MICHAEL'S GRAND-SLAM SPARKS ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING COMEBACK'S IN G.E. HISTORY

2013 MEMORIAL DAY CLASSIC UPDATE

Zion Michael & Ian Pascual (Memorial Day Weekend 2013)
Ian Pascual slammed his first home-run of the season on Sunday afternoon against the Tri-Valley Dawgs, a ball that traveled an estimated 260 feet in the air. His home-run gave Golden Era the lead in the 4th inning and the team never looked back, cruising to a 8 to 1 victory.

Sunday's night game didn't start out Golden Era's way, falling behind 9 to 2 early to the Golden Gate Sliders which is where the score sat heading into the last inning. Then one of those once in a season innings happened.

Hunter Mott led off the top of the last inning with a 9 pitch walk, Ian Pascual worked the count and was later hit by a pitch, McRae Grace then came up and walked as well loading the bases for Zion Michael.

Zion got a pitch he could handle and didn't miss, sending an absolute bomb deep into the night sky for a grand-slam. The home-run still put Golden Era behind 9 to 6 but CJ Hudson quickly got it going again with a double to left center.

Rocky Sizemore then reached base on a catchers interference call and Matthew Miles got an infield single to load the bases. Ryan Sasaki now stepped to the plate with still no outs and G.E. down by 3 when he lined a single into left field scoring 2 making it a 9 to 8 ball game.

The next two hitters were retired and with two outs Hunter Mott came to the plate and hit a ball into right field scoring 2 to give Golden Era the lead. Mott then stole 2nd base and scored on the next pitch when Ian Pascual also knocked a hit into right field.

When it was all said and done Golden Era had put 10 runs on the board in the inning giving them a 12 to 9 lead.

Pascual retired the side in order in the bottom half of the inning and just like that the 11U Elite squad and completed one of the most memorial comeback wins in Golden Era history.

The win moved Golden Era to a 3 to 1 record in the Memorial Day Classic heading into Monday's championship round.
