PAST PLAYER UPDATE: C.J. Maruyama has tremendous freshmen college season

Past Golden Era player C.J. Maruyama had a very solid freshmen season, pitching for Occidental College in Southern California.

C.J. tied for the team lead with five wins in his debut season season with the Tigers, posting a 3.20 ERA while pitching the second most innings (59.0).

In his collegiate debut, C.J. allowed only two hits in five innings against Austin College on Feb. 3...

Shut out La Sierra (Feb. 10), throwing 6.1 innings while striking out six...

Threw five innings, allowed one unearned run and recorded a win at Chapman (Feb. 16)...

Earned a win in only four innings as a starter at Caltech (March 9) as the Tigers won 19-6 in eight innings...

Added another four-inning win on March 30 at Whittier, tossing four innings of shutout baseball...
